All my breakfast-in-bed 🍳fantasies came true, r All my breakfast-in-bed 🍳fantasies came true, right when I came out of shower, I saw @ambiancehotels sent me these massive French toasts with glazed bananas, sprinkle of cinnamon and a dollop of whipped cream.

For extra touches, it was covered with this shining silver dome and accompanied by a hazelnut latte 😍

Are you team breakfast-in-bed??

Besides breakfast, every thing about this boutique hotel was swoon worthy. I don’t think I’ve seen a more aesthetic one in Pakistan. Complete hotel-tour video is coming tomorrow.

Anyway, so this was a fabulous start to our Lahore leg of the journey. 🚗

DESTINATION 📍Nathia Gali, Pakistan We drove ab DESTINATION 📍Nathia Gali, Pakistan

We drove about 3 hours North of Islamabad, to reach Nathia Gali.

Till sometime ago I used to believe, who travels to North Pakistan from Karachi in South, to just go to Nathia Gali, when you’ve got more exotic & adventurous destinations like Hunza & Chitral & Skardu. But after this trip I say, this is a perfect place for a quick weekend retreat if you are not in the mood of an adventure and have shortage of time.

It is not as commercial yet as Murree or Naran, and yet there is something for everyone, Mushkpuri & Miranjani treks, quiet resorts, shopping & food options & plenty of views to enjoy if you want to ‘do nothing’.

BUT who I’d love to market this destination to, is REMOTE WORKERS or DIGITAL NOMADS. If your job is remote in 2021, THIS is where you can base yourself. 4G works here (mine did @jazzdigital ), you’re in the mountains, you can find cheap accommodations & may be strike with them a weekly or monthly rental. Fast food option is also available there now. Im actually surprised no one has talked about this.

As a tourist, I stayed at @hotel.elites , it is the most comfortable place to stay with a family, esp if you are there for a day or two. Central location, clean rooms, inverter available & they have the warmest comforter on the bed.

If you want to go to a more quiet spot, drive away from the market & you’ll find more places to stay.

HEAD TO TODAY’S STORIES, to see more from Nathia Gali.

CHOP WOOD, CARRY WATER No big caption today, just CHOP WOOD, CARRY WATER

No big caption today, just a little drone shot from the snowy Nathia Gali with a few words from heart 🥰

I’ve come out of 2020 with a deep, desperate desire to improve what I do and expand my skills. But I want to do it fast. Im sure Im not alone in this thinking and many of you must have similar wishes. I read this somewhere recently: CHOP WOOD, CARRY WATER. It means you have to do the small mundane daily acts, which will will gradually help you achieve the big ones. I hope it helps you, whereever you are.

P.S. flying this tiny thing in the mountains, while my husband co-operated, was literally my ‘one-small-step-for-man-one-giant-leap….’ moment. 🤪

My Stay in Islamabad 📍 (SAVE IT FOR FUTURE TRA My Stay in Islamabad 📍

(SAVE IT FOR FUTURE TRAVEL)

Im not a big fan of “guest house” concept, which is pretty popular across the country, cause well, you never know what you’re going to get.

Im so happy to tell ya’ll about “Roomy Signature” @roomypakistan in Islamabad. In a city where on one spectrum you’ve got luxury hotel chains & then very basic guesthouses, this one is is built like a proper, modern, mid-range hotel.

The location is very central; it is in F6 Merkez. The aesthetics & cleanliness are the first things one notices. They have a sunroof in their gorgeous Aangan cafe, where daylight creates a beautiful atmosphere 🤩at breakfast time. Breakfast is standard and the quality is good. In most accommodations in Islamabad you don’t find an atmosphere where you can sit & work☕️💻, other than your room. Here you’ve got that.

Rooms have all the amenities, and ones in which we stayed had a very fusion traditional yet contemporary decor. My experience with staff was also 👍🏽 Another thing I loved about the room, is a big, giant window that lets in the sunlight ☀️I only wished they had a balcony access, but that’s my personal choice.

Lastly, a small thing won my heart. They had a reminder besides the bed & in bathroom, about the environmental🌎impact, if you want your linen & towels to be washed everyday. THIS IS NEEDED.

MULTAN ➡️ ISLAMABAD This was my road trip cre MULTAN ➡️ ISLAMABAD

This was my road trip crew. Husband on the left and my besties, Mr & Mrs Sidra, on the right. Taking the ULTIMATE ROAD TRIP IN PAKISTAN. Looking back it seems like miracle that 4 thirty-somethings, heading companies & departments were able to sync a week off from work. 🤯

Anyway, from Multan we drove about 7 hours to Islamabad📍. The motorway is the best I saw on this trip. And the Bhera service area is really epic with loads of food options & a LUXURY (but PAID) TOILET FACILITY.

Agenda in Islamabad was to meet some friends over food 🍲 and give our legs a bit of workout. We went to Margalla Hills 🏔Trail 5, the next day we reached. The only full day we had here. And post trek, ended the day with a big, late lunch at Saidpur Village.

.

Im curious to know if you guys have any roadtrip plans anywhere soon??

Karachi - Multan We reached Multan from Karachi, Karachi - Multan

We reached Multan from Karachi, at the end of our DAY 1, driving 🚘 about 800 KMS (because of unusual traffic & fog it took us 20 hours, otherwise its approx 11 hours ).

.....

Here’s what I learnt about the most beautiful architecture, TOMB OF SHAH RUKNE ALAM, in the 7th largest city of Pakistan 🇵🇰 , MULTAN:

📍To my surprise, it was not built in mughal era 18th C, infact it was completed in 13th century in pre-mughal style of architecture.

📍Its on the tentative list of Unesco World Heritage Site.l 😵

📍About 100,000 pilgrims visit here from all across South Asia, on annual commemoration of his death.

📍Though Multan is in Punjab, but the city had strong links to Persia and Afghanistan and hence the influence of Central Asian style of architecture in this tomb.

.....

The interior was not as impressive, it has been done in modern times by the local artisans.

We were charged a mandatory donation of a specific amount, to go inside. The amount we felt is what they thought we could pay easily based on their judgement of our appearance.
